Today’s Photo and Shortbread Cookie Recipe

We had a little Fall Party yesterday. Music, food, lots of cookies and candy!

I found in the cupboard torn out pages from a Christmas issue of Country Living Magazine. Here is the recipe for Shortbread Cookies. Those are them below! My kids said they tasted better than my sugar cookies (ouch). My husband says he loves both.

3 c all-purpose flour
1/2 t baking powder
1 c (2 stickes) butter, softened
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 T vanilla extract

In mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. About 5 min. This is where my stand mixer comes in handy :- }
Add egg and vanilla and beat until blended. Gradually beat in baking powder and flour. Place dough in refrigerator for about an hour. Roll cookies out on lightly floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut shapes with cookies cutter. Bake at 350 for 8 -10 minutes. Makes 12 to 24 cookies depending on size. I double the recipe for my family.
