I have bee playing with tea the last couple of months. My current favorite is the above!
One tea bag of each, seep in my favorite cup, add some milk. It was prefect this morning.
I found a great little recipe I want to share.
I used it to make S’more Cookies, but I have also used it with other bags
of yummy add – in from the baking isle like the Andres Mints bits and the Butterfinger Bites, Mini M & M’s.
Basic Cookie Mix (to add stuff to)
½ C soft butter
2/3 C white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 C plus 2 TBS all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1 Bag Hershey S’mores for Baking
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Tin foil cookie she with non-stick tinfoil.
In large bowl cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Add vanilla and mix well.
Add baking soda, salt and flour. Mix until creamy. Add your yummy candy of choice and mix.
Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool before removing from cookie sheet. Makes about 24 (2 dozen).
Soul Care Seconds – day 4
I have never done anything like this Soul Care project. I ponder things through out the day normally. I try to stop and take notice of things. Beautiful, magical things. It has been fun to do it as an assignment.
“Try and move about your day today paying attention to what is already holding joy for you, but also what you might be missing. Remember, these are tiny micro soul care seconds. If we capture them, our lives will be richer, full of gratitude for all that already surrounds us.” Kelly Rae Roberts
I think this week has been great for me because looking for the Soul Care Seconds has been much more intentional because of Kelly Rae’s daily prompts via email.
I took this photo this afternoon after my day was done and I could relax a bit. This is the view from my favorite chair.
Soul Care Seconds – day 3
“…witness the divine in everything and to continue caring for my soul.” Kelly Rae Roberts
This day has not been easy. It has been very hot in the central valley. My newly licensed daughter dinged the side of the car last night. Another daughter needed a ride to an appointment and on it went.
I did look for the moments, the little things that give me joy.
This evening has been much better, quieter, breathable.
My little blueberry plant is in hiding from the birds. It amazes me that I grew blueberries!
Day 2 Soul Care Seconds
“But we’re not giving our souls the amount of silence they need to dissolve the chatter in our heads, listen to our whispers, and hear the parts of ourselves that are wise, brilliant, and deeply aware of our own unique truths.” Kelly Rae Roberts
Silencing the noise. Oh that is so hard. I have to make a thoughtful conscious effort. I use meditative breathing exercises throughout the day. If I am having particular trouble I focus on a word. I use apple a lot. I do not know why.
I like having pretty things around the rooms to rest my eyes on and take a few deep breath. This is usually how my stove looks when not in use.
